15-14 win over Gold Gloves box score This was our first game all year, and we faced a strong team that's bounced in and out of different leagues for years. We took an early lead but then blew it in the fourth, then got some back to make it 12-12. They scored twice in the top of the fifth and then the clock ran out as we started batting, so we had to score two to tie and three to win. After three consecutive singles, Theresa doubled to drive in two and tie the game, and put the winning run on third. David then hit a rocket past all the outfielders to drive Troy in and win the game! |

17-18 loss to Silent-K box score It's not often that a loss shows up in a "best games" list, but in this season-opener for our Thursday season, we showed a lot of heart. We'd dug ourselves into a 6-18 hole going into the top of the fifth with only minutes left; as the visiting team, this was our last at-bat. We could have died out quietly but instead, we hit a ton, walked a little, and put up eleven runs - only one short of what we needed to tie the game. We lost, but we'd turned a lopsided beating into a thriller, and everyone knew it. |

20-13 win over Howard box score For years, Howard has played on and off in our Sunday league, and they always put a powerful team out there. We see-sawed around in this contest for long enough to run the clock down in six innings, with the score tied 12-12. We'd never beaten Howard, but this time we exploded for eight runs in the top of the seventh, then held them to only one to win 20-13. |

5-1 win over Nothing in Common box score How often do you play a seven-inning game with two good-hitting teams and only score a TOTAL of six runs? That's how we opened the fall 2006 season, and we had five of those six runs. The opponent didn't even score until the sixth inning. It was just masterful pitching and defense all around. |
